Today I went to WaterMark Church, where Ryan Howell is the tech director. He showed me around the Yamaha M7CL, and answered some questions for me. Also, It was good to just hang with him for a few hours and get the Tour of his new worship center.
Please, please, please, if you work as a church tech director or are otherwise in tech ministry, be sure to get to know the guys around you. I promise, there are other people in your city who have the same challenges and struggles as you do (and who also want to celebrate what’s going well for you).

I love the M7Cl, my church bought one close to two years ago. It took a little getting used to, but after that is is way easier to use than any other board i have ever used.

Brian-thanks for stopping by. You are more than welcome to the worship study when we are finished. Shoot me an email at the end of May and I will pass it on!

You’ll love the M7 if you get it. If Ryan is the guy I met when I went over with my friend Jason back in December he probably warned you that the mic pres are a little on the bright side. He is right but I’d buy the board again in a second – that is unless I could afford a PM1D or PM5D!

We have an M7 and are very pleased. For the price, I think it’s a home run for the church market. There are a few things it can’t do, but then again, it’s $20K, not $50K. I love the touch screen and the fact that all channels have dedicated faders. It’s very easy to teach volunteers, and as you get more familiar with it, the power just opens up. I’m not sure there’s a better desk for churches in this price range. And really, few churches need more power. You’ll love it!

Hi, My church is about to get a M7CL and i was just wondering about the recording…I know sermons will be okay to record but what about praise and worship…will it be a good enough quality to put on a CD or web and distribute?
