I can’t find my reading glasses . . .

Lately I’ve been getting a lot done at work, but my office has really suffered for it. My office, like I’m sure yours is, is really more than an office.

It’s a workshop, equipment storage facility, equipment return center, staging area for equipment going out on site, video edit suite, etc.

The next job I tackle will be organizing our portable gear setups. A friend of mine at Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall, TX uses a Kobalt tool chest on wheels. He calls it his “War Wagon”. It rolls easily onto the stage for worship setup, or down the hall for adult ed or bible study setups. I think it will be my next purchase.

A little late on the bandwagon on this one, but I am in Hawaii where I’m having a lot of free time to catch up on reading….

I’ve been sold on tool chests as audio stroage units when I started serving at The Met under Jeff Malott. they’re perfect for mics, DIs, etc. I to this day, make this a priority for audio storage when I see a place that needs some audio organization. You can buy the tool mats, and double layer them. You cut out the shape of the mic from the first layer, and it keeps everything organized, and also helps the volunteers make sure they have everything the need at the end of the day before pushing it into the closet.
